Thumbs down award for transport staff

Your teens may have to use the train or bus to get to school. I guess like me you tell them not to talk to strangers, if anything happens to report it to a train guard/ bus driver as they will help you...I bet like me you have been worried sick at times about them travelling without you? Well I was always concerned about strangers-not the train/bus staff until now! I have spoken to many concerned parent about their concerns on this matter also-and have found that young people being treated in an aggresive manner by train/tranport staff is far from a rare occurunce.

I have been told:

A young girl,on her own in an isolated country area, found herself being chased and attacked by two grown men. She quite sensibly, ran and jumped on a bus that had stopped at a stop. Breathless she tried to explain to the driver what had happend and asked for assistance. He demanded a fair! She had dropped her bag and purse in an attempt to get away and had no money with here....so he tried to make her get off the bus instead of helping her. Luckily she was so afraid she refused and sat down clinging on to a bar for dear life. The driver then threatened to call the police over her non payment for the bus journey, she at last replied 'thank you' that had been what she had been asking him to do all along! Her mother had later complained to the bus company and recieved a glib response that many teens had been trying to get bus rides without paying etc etc. the driver was only following orders (Hey isnt that what the Nazi said)

I would think if a bus driver cannot tell the difference between a bunch of teens misbehaving and not wanting to pay to use the bus, and a shaken up teen girl in distress, that quite frankly he needed his eyes tested and shouldn't have been a bus driver with eye site and judgement that poor!

The next incident, I have personal experience of as a friends children got caught up in the middle of it and I was called upon to help out.

A schoole bus driver(private bus company) had apparently taken exception one day at the amount of noise the kids were making in the back of the bus. He had shouted at them to shut the hell up, when a ten boy had shouted back a rather rude response. This is one teen boy on a bus full of 100 kids mind you. So....the bus driver, feeling peeved, decided to drive all the kids, none stop, 20 miles out in to the countyside, (where there was nothng, no houses, phone, shops, nothing) and order them all off the bus at about 5pm on a winters day. Now it was dark by then and freezing! Luckily a few of the kids had mobile phones and frantically called home. Now not all of the kids parents were home, or had cars in any case to be able to retrieve the children. A few of them called everyone they knew (Myself included as I had a car) and we all picked up and dropped back car loads of them over and over till they wre all safely home.

Complaints to the bus company on this issue yielded nothing-no response at all over the incident!

I live in central London, and dropped my own son (13yrs) off with a ticket to travel from London, Victoria railway station. I saw him through the barriers and another family member would be meeting him at the station the other end. So I had no idea there could possibly be any problem! It was a fast train from London Victoria to the destination-no stops. When he reached the platform at the other end, he was mopped by what he described as a 'Gang' of large men, speacking with foreign accents and being aggressive with him...they were a bunch of ticket inspectors! They shouted at him, deemanded a ticket even manhandled him, forcing him to tip out his rucksack  on a bust platform at rush hour demanding his ticket-yet not really giving him a chance to find it! They started to right him a ticket with a fine on it whilst busy comuters walked all over his belongings.

Now, dod you know London Victoria? Well if you did, let me tell you...you would need the Paras TO GET YOU THROUGH THAT STATION WITHOUT A TICKET!

My son was extremly upset and flusterd but DID mange to find his ticket and show the inspector. He said only-"Ok you can go" No sorry, no nothing. Once I heared of this I called and complained. I was told to write in and wait.lol

Whilst we waited for a response...they only posted the 'fine' to us for non payment of fair!!! The rotten guards, after treating my son so badly, had then ( after seeing his ticket and watching him leave the station via a ticket barrier... had then submitted the fine ticket anyhow!

I went from 02-Bitch in 60 seconds at that point I can tell you!

We got a letter, saying sorry, not our policy to treat teens so badly, blah, blah, blah. The exact same situation has occurred now 4 times in one year! So...it may not be their 'Policy' however they are doing bog all to prevent it happening either!

So before the gouvernment complains at us all for driving our kids everywhere, and bemonaing the fact we are not using public transport more...maybe they should look at training some of the staff who work for the public transport companies and then many more of us might use public transport!

Now, please people-get real! No bank official is going to email you from a hotmail account for a start.lol

Im laughing, but this is not funny at all! I have had people contact 02bitch.com as they have been distressed to recieve similar email saying such things as: 'My children are starving, I need medical care, Im living in a cardboard box....etc.Should you reply, you will get one of two responses, either they will ask for ALL your bank and personal details, DOB, mothers maiden name, place of birth etc. Or they will immidiatly ask you to deposit funds in to an annon account. 

These scams are either designed to find people short of money themselves, who may 'risk' giving out personal details in the hope of getting some desperatly needed funds, or they are designed to tug on your hopefully 'Generous' heart strings!

Now, a few things that I want you to consider here:

If you give some stranger All your personal details (there is no money from any deceased person going begging-remember?) What do you think that they are going to do with them, or want them for? They will attempt to steal your identity, or get into your bank accounts-thats what! If you give these details over, they may attempt to obtain bank accounts, passports, loans etc. All in your so far 'Good' name. You may wake one morning to find bills arriving from all over the world for all sorts of purchases and loans. You could also wake up one morning to find that your personal bank account has been emptied. Please dont hand out these details to anyone!

Consider this also, If you are in Darkest Peru, living in a cardboard box, with a sick child etc. How do you get online to send scam emails out? What a neat trick with no computer and no electricity? Well, I guess they could have gone to the local internt cafe?(I am sure there are many of these in Darkest Peru) However, would you be spending your money on cyber time in such circumstances? No!

Accept, there is no spare Million hanging around waiting to be claimed, never give your personal details out to anyone on-line.

There are people all over the world in desperate need-but this is not one of them! Don't send your hard earnt money to these scammer who send out millions of emails on the 'off chance'. If you want to help people in need, give to a brilliant charity such as Oxfam who are set up properly to do just that! There are many ways you can give and help people in need-Just dont give your money over to those on the take! Either delete and block these email or pass them on to your local trading standards dept.

I had always been a huge fan of Paypal-I still am in fact. They are a really good form of payment to use if buying from ebay etc. They have always been brilliant with me if I have purchased something on e-bay and it hasn't turned up for example. However, I had a shock recently with them. Thinking that they were really good and purchasing using Paypal online was completly safe, I bought a computer script online. Well I was sent a download link for the script-no problem, downloaded it-fine. Found then...that the damn script didn't work. I had it checked by an expert, the script was rubbish and it didn't work at all. I made a complaint to the company, who more or less said 'Tough' and refused to fix it or refund my money. I contacted Paypal, outraged-To be told, and I quote:

PayPal works hard to ensure that transactions made within our community are safe by providing specific terms and conditions that need to be followed. The Buyer Complaint Policy only applies to payments for tangible, physical goods which can be posted, and excludes all other payments, including but not limited to payments for intangibles, for services or for licenses and other access to digital content . In addition, items prohibited in the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy are ineligible for coverage.

PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy also provides a method for buyers issue formal complaints regarding goods paid for through PayPal but
never received, and regarding goods purchased on eBay and paid for
through PayPal that the buyer receives but that are significantly not as
described by the seller.

In plain english now....you bought a product that didn't work and we are not going to refund your money at all, despite the fact that it didnt work at all. This is not a tangible product-so we exclude assisting you further. In short...Tough!You can't have your money back.

So people, if you are going to buy anything electronic/Non tangible in nature, eg. scripts, online music downloads or ring tones for example, can I suggest you use your visa and not paypal?

Visa WILL ASSIST you should the product turn ut to be useless by by organising you a refund. I feel it's a shame that Paypal let you down when it comes to non tangable products:(

 I decided to write this blog as I am sick and tired of poor services, bad advice, stupid rules, lack of services and institutions not 'giving a damn', bad manners and general travesties of justice that occur daily.
